My name is Ian Walterson. I was brought up in Shetland from a very young age. I joined the British Army and completed 22 years of active service. After that, I worked for the United States Military in Iraq and Afghanistan for 6 years. I have gained a wealth of travel experience with both operational military tours and freelance travelling around the world.
Valhalla Tours is a new, small tour business offering executive minivan and walking tours, or a combination of both. I thoroughly enjoy meeting new people and love to showcase our beautiful islands. The tours are mainly set up for cruise ship passengers here for just one day; holidaymakers to Shetland can extend the package for a few days, which is highly recommended.
The tours are designed for a personalised, customised package tailored exactly for your needs. So if you wish to avoid the large bus tours and crowds, get off the beaten track with Valhalla Tours and discover many of Shetland's hidden gems.
These tours cover everything from wildlife, stunning scenery, and prehistoric sites to the Islands' unique culture.
My personal interests include: history, including military history; fishing, both sea and freshwater; and walking.
I look forward to welcoming you to Shetland soon.
